Dressing Appropriately

Title of Product: Annie's Naturals Salad Dressing

Description: Topping for your salad

Why do you like it?
All natural ingredients in this dressing. Go to the condiment isle and try to find a salad dressing that doesn't have high fructose corn syrup in it. It is almost impossible unless you go to the organic section. Most vinaigrette dressings will get you the right combination on ingredients but I just don't like them. I like the creamy or thick tangy stuff. For that you have to go to the organic isle. There are a few that I have tried and this one is pretty good.

Hooray for Ketchup! Bring on the Burgers and Dogs.

Title of Product: Publix Greenwise Organic Ketchup

Description: ketchup - the #1 condiment in the world!

Why do you like it?
Organic sure, but this is a rare find. Ketchup without high fructose corn syrup... imagine! It tastes great and if anything maybe a little sweeter than Heinz or Hunts. It is a little more but it last a long time.

Description: Soymilk Egg Nog

Why do you like it?
Just in time for the holidays! Egg Nog that doesn't have corn syrup or other junk in it. It is very smooth and not near as thick as regular egg nog. No more waiting for days for the liquid to come out of the glass. The taste is great and it makes for a nice holiday treat.

All American - All Natural - All Good!

Title of Product: Oscar Mayer Natural Beef Franks

Description: Hot Dogs

Why do you like it?
Who doesn't like a good hot dog? These taste great and surprisingly don't have any junk in them! No descriptors like mechanically separated meat on this label. Just beef and spices. Add a little whole grain bread with organic ketchup and you actually have a good meal. Just be sure to squeeze in a green vegetable and fruit to make it well rounded. They are a little pricey but when you are craving a grilled hot dog these will do the job.

Can Sausage Be Considered A Dessert?

Title of Product: Niman Ranch Apple Gouda Sausage

Description:
All Natural Apple Gouda Sausage

Why do you like it?
Oh my goodness these are good! Read the label and you can understand every ingredient plus they taste so good. I am a fan of sausage but the combination in flavors in these are over-the-top. It is the perfect mix of sweet and salt without junk ingredients. Sausage is still sausage so there is grease involved. Pop these babies on the grill for about 5-7 minutes and you won't be sorry. They are great with a side of some kind of starch like rice or bread and don't forget your green vegetable!

In Honor of Paul Newman and Pasta

Title of Product: Newman's Own - Marinara

Description: Tomato Sauce

Why do you like it?
It is really simple... it tastes good and doesn't have any junk ingredients in it. There are a variety of flavors available including organics. I like the marinara variety the best because it has the right amount of smooth and chunky. I am not a big fan of really chunky sauces. Tastes great on any pasta and it is easy to prepare.

Save Calories by having a drink.

Title of Product: Water

Description: Spring or filtered water

Why do you like it?
Clean, refreshing, and no calories! This is the best way to quench your thirst and the easiest way to reduce calories in your diet. If you substitute 2 glasses of water for 2 glasses of regular soda you can save nearly 600 calories a day. Since most people are suppose to eat around 2000-2400 calories a day, saving 600 is a lot! Not to mention you won't be putting nutrition-less ingredients, caffeine, corn syrup, and sugar from the soda in your body.

I am Screaming for Ice Cream!

Title of Product: Breyers All Natural Ice Cream

Description: Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Why do you like it?
While Ice Cream itself isn't the healthiest thing you can eat this one is the most natural one I can find. The ice cream is made of all natural ingredients such as milk, cream, and sugar and it comes in many different flavors. The flavors are where you will find the not-s0-healthy ingredients like caramel, cookie dough, chocolate chips, chocolate swirls, brownies, etc. I just have to have a little sweet treat every once in a while and this brand seems to have the most natural ingredients and no corn syrup. Breyers makes other ice cream so be sure to look for the green banner that says, "all natural."

Juice Made From Fruit!

Title of Product: Juicy Juice

Description: Grape Juice

Why do you like it?
It has apple juice, grape juice, and pear juice along with Absorbic Acid and natural flavors. No corn syrup and no added sugar. You always have to watch the amount of sugar in juices and this is no exception. It tastes very sweet and delicious and grape is a great alternative to the juices that are more acidic. It makes for a nice sweet treat for breakfast or after dinner.

My Childhood Flashback Snack!

Title of Product: Mott's Natural Applesauce

Description: Applesauce

Why do you like it?
It just has apples in it! The list is: apples, water and Absorbic Acid(Vitamin C). There is no corn syrup, no chemicals, just natural ingredients. There are several kinds of Mott's Applesauce available so be sure to look for the one called "Natural." I use it in cooking and by itself as a snack with a little sprinkle of cinnamon. There are a few other brands that make natural applesauce but this one is usually priced better.

Real Jelly from real Fruit! For real!

Title of Product: Polaner All Fruit Spread

Description: Jelly

Why do you like it?
I was looking for a Grape Jelly with natural ingredients. This proved to be very difficult because most jelly have corn syrup. Polaner makes several different flavors and they are all fruit based. This one tastes great but it is a little more expensive for the amount you get than the big brands.

No Chunky Stuff Please!

Title of Product:
Homemade Peanut Butter

Description: Fresh ground peanut butter

Why do you like it?
I was trying to find a brand of peanut butter that didn't have corn syrup or bad oils in it. I couldn't find one from a big brand so I visited the deli at my grocery store. They make their own peanut butter and the only ingredients are peanuts-that is it! I don't like chunky peanut butter so I was hesitant to try it but the peanut are ground up so small that it doesn't bother me at all.
